Alexander Ward - ‘The Wild Swimmers’
This ongoing series of work explores the people who engage with the cold and challenging lakes, rivers and seas of the UK.
The project seeks to tell stories about those who form this brave and intriguing sub-culture, along with their connection to their environments and their motivations.
I wanted to capture my subjects with an organic approach, working with digital and film to showcase swimmers at home and in their surrounding wetlands, building domestic portraits that stretch beyond their local waters and back again.
This work forms a Research Project for Alexander’s Masters at Falmouth.
