The artist’s practice originates in the darkroom, rooted in a tactile investigation of the photographic surface and the material structures of analogue processes. Central to this approach is an exploration of photography’s shifting states between visibility and invisibility, which becomes a space for unexpected transformation and reinterpretation.

The series titled Homo Negans builds on this foundation. Composed of collages and décollages made from found black and white negatives, mostly portraits across various film formats, the work disassembles and reconfigures its source material. This process intentionally disturbs the photographic matrix, challenging traditional ideas of authorship and identity.

By removing recognisable features and dismantling the image’s evidential quality, the subject is de-identified. What remains is a visual dialogue between posture, texture, light, and space, inviting viewers to engage with the photograph not as a record but as a site of continuous transformation.
